Activate Sensor

Activates TPMS sensors to display sensor ID, pressure, frequency, temperature and battery condition.

Diagnose Tire-Pressure Faults

Reads and clears TPMS DTCs.

Program Sensor

Programs sensor data into a new LAUNCH sensor to replace a faulty or low-battery unit. Three methods:

• Auto Create: Generates a random ID when the original ID is unavailable.
• Manual Create: Manually enter a new ID when the original ID is unavailable.
• Copy by Activation: Activates the original sensor, then copies its data into the LAUNCH sensor. (Original sensor must be activated first.)

Do not place the wand near multiple sensors simultaneously; interference may cause programming failure.

TPMS Relearn

Writes the newly programmed sensor ID into the vehicle ECU. Required only when the new ID differs from the original ID stored in the ECU. Three relearn methods:

• Static Learning: Put vehicle in learning mode and follow on-screen steps.
• Self-Learning: Drive the vehicle to complete learning automatically (supported models).
• Relearn by OBD: Use the diagnostic tool to write sensor IDs directly into the TPMS module. Activate all four sensors first, then follow on-screen instructions.

Binding I-TPMS Wand for First Use

1. Tap TPMS on the diagnostic tool Job menu.
2. Tap Bind X-431 TSGUN.
3. Tap Bind; enter required information and confirm. The wand appears in the Bound list.
4. Repeat steps 3–4 to bind multiple wands.

Common Problems & Solutions

Q: Why does the wireless tire-pressure tool stay on the startup page?

A: The startup page appears when the wand is not in TPMS mode. Once the diagnostic tool executes TPMS functions, the wand switches to the correct page automatically.

Q: Why does the wand not respond during TPMS operations?

A: Check:

1. Successful binding to the diagnostic tool.
2. Wand is selected in the “Bound Equipment” list.
3. Wand is powered on.
4. Wand is not damaged.

Q: Why does the wand shut down automatically?

A: Check:

1. Battery fully discharged.
2. Device auto-powers off after 30 min of inactivity when unplugged.

Q: The wand cannot activate one or more sensors.

A: Check:

• Wand functionality.
• Sensor, TPMS module or ECU damage.
• Sensor actually installed (metal valve ≠ sensor).
• Multiple sensors detected simultaneously.
• Wand firmware; perform firmware repair if needed.
