Description

The ECU Bench Tool is a universal bench service tool. Its software automatically detects ECU and memory types, simplifying the ECU reading and writing process. It provides access to available memory areas, allowing users to read or write specific data directly through the software.

The ECU Bench Tool enables reading and writing of Bosch EDC ECUs using the TriCore processor on the bench—without opening the ECU lid. This includes full access to flash areas (IROM/XROM and EEPROM). This capability significantly eases work with engine controllers that lack available OBD programming protocols, greatly speeding up tasks for such vehicles.

Currently Supported ECU Types (PCM Flash Does Not Support These)

• Bench mode: Bosch MEDC17 based on TriCore microprocessor
• Bench mode: Bosch MD1/MG1 based on Motorola MPC5777 / Aurix TC2xx microprocessor
• Bench mode: Bosch EDC16& based on Motorola MPC5xx microprocessor
• Bench mode: VAG/VOLVO MED9 based on Motorola MPC5xx microprocessor
  (Other brands using ME(D)9 are not currently supported but will be added in future releases)

This tool is available as Master version only. Flash checksums are included!

1. If you only have a Bosch number and don’t know your car’s specific ECU model, input the Bosch number to confirm the ECU model. Once confirmed, check if it appears in the ECU Bench Tool support list—if it does, your car is supported.
2. If you have both the ECU model and Bosch number, and our support list only shows ECU models (not Bosch hardware numbers), cross-reference: if you can find the Bosch number via the provided link and the ECU model in the support list, your car is definitely supported.
